Ultrasound & Cavitation
Ultrasounds are vibrations with a frequency higher than the limit of human hearing.

Ultrasounds (US) are used in many different fields, including professional aesthetics. In the medical practice US are used for diagnosis (e.g. ultrasonography) and rehabilitation, while in beauty they are used for fighting body imperfections.

Ultrasound is a cyclic acoustic wave, alternating compression and decompression. Cavitation is the process of formation of bubbles in a flowing liquid: this happens because in a region the pressure of the liquid becomes lower. These micro-bubbles can migrate and when they reach a high pressure area, they implode creating shock waves that hit the adipocytes.

This phenomena can happen without external stimulation, but it’s extremely intensified using a ultrasound probe. It’s used mainly on the adipose tissue.
